Battboy Adventure sends you on a quest that tests your reflexes. You pick English, European Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese. In the main menu, you adjust audio settings or check the credits. You also see a button that lets you share the game online. Your progress and level rank stay saved right in the browser.
On desktop, the arrow keys move your character. You press the up arrow for jumping and gliding. Hitting S fires the grappling hook. On touchscreens, you tap icons for moving and jumping. A separate control lets you glide. Another icon fires the hook. You beat a level to unlock the next one.
Your heart meter sits at the top of the screen. Stars you grab appear nearby and your total score shows in another corner. Each level sets a goal of three stars. You dash across platforms and jump small gaps. A glide carries you over larger traps. You fire your grappling hook at walls to swing across deep pits. Spikes kill on contact and hidden pits work the same way. Both send you back to the level’s start. Foes chip away at hearts with each contact. You dodge with a timed leap. A boomerang helps you fight back but reaches only a short distance against distant enemies.
