About Centipede

Atari launched an arcade favorite in 1980. A long centipede crawls down a garden path and shifts direction at each mushroom. You blast every segment. You dodge its venomous tail and weave clear of fungi across the field.

You start with a lone shooter parked at the screen base. You slide it left or right along the floor. Each shot breaks a segment or blows away a mushroom. Spiders swoop in from the corners. You brake and move away to avoid their attack.

Every level turns up the speed. The centipede darts in unexpected zigzags. Bright pixels flash across the screen. The simple aim and fast rhythm won many fans. Players still seek this gem on vintage cabinets and in online versions.
