About Rummy

Rummy offers easy setup and casual play. A standard deck lets players drop into action quickly. The goal demands making sequences in the same suit such as a five, six and seven of hearts or sets of identical rank like three kings. Players collect melds, lay them out and shorten the game.

Each player receives seven cards. The remaining deck becomes a draw pile. One card turns face up to start the discard pile. On a turn players draw the top card from either pile. They place any valid runs or sets face up. They end their turn by tossing a card to the discard pile. This draw, meld and discard cycle creates both ease and a spark of rivalry.

Players face a choice between grabbing a known discard or drawing blind. Observing each discard and draw reveals rival plans. A player empties their hand and discards the final card to end the round. Face cards bring ten points each. Each ace holds one point. Number cards carry the number stamped on them. Scores climb across rounds and the lowest total wins.
