Return to the Laboratory

Steppenwolf: The X-Creatures Project 22 is the second episode of Chapter 6, also known as The Heruka Part 2. The episode continues near the end of the larger X-Creatures story.

Octavio contacts Steppenwolf and gives him information about returning to the laboratory without attracting attention. Steppenwolf also needs to locate Shelley’s holding cell before time runs out. The mission puts more focus on sneaking through dangerous areas and working out how to get past guards and obstacles.

This is not a game where you solve every problem with a weapon. Steppenwolf needs to examine the environment, collect useful objects, and work out how those items fit into each situation.

Run, Jump, Search, and Use Items

The arrow keys move Steppenwolf. Holding Shift while moving makes him run. Control performs a short jump. Using Shift and Control together creates a longer jump. The Space key interacts with nearby objects.

Pressing T switches between collected items. The I key opens the inventory.

These controls matter because Episode 22 mixes movement with puzzles. A route may require climbing, jumping across a dangerous gap, using an object on part of the environment, or avoiding somebody who can stop the mission.

The inventory is especially important. Picking up an object does not mean it has an immediate use. You may carry it until you reach the correct machine, door, guard, or other obstacle.

Think Before Moving Forward

Steppenwolf 22 uses both action and logic. Moving too slowly in a dangerous area can get Steppenwolf caught. Moving too quickly can make you miss an item needed a few screens later.

The life gauge shows how much danger the character can survive. Reaching zero ends the attempt. The game also provides an inventory screen where action pauses while you examine the objects you have collected.

Watching the story scenes helps because they can show where Steppenwolf needs to go or explain what the next objective means. The puzzles often make more sense after paying attention to the surrounding objects.

The main purpose of Steppenwolf: The X-Creatures Project 22 stays clear throughout the episode. Get back into the laboratory without being noticed and find Shelley. Reaching her requires careful movement, useful items, puzzle solving, and good timing rather than simple fighting.
